Dark Chocolate and Red Wine to Fight Glaucoma

A Spanish study identified certain foods that could ease the
symptoms of glaucoma, such as the moderate consumption
of red wine, dark chocolate, green tea, fruit and vegetables,
and liver. Most of these ingredients are rich in antioxidants.
Coffee was also found to protect against retinal degeneration,
whereas the anti-inflammatory properties of omega-3 fatty
acids slow down the progression of glaucoma. However, only
gene therapy carries the hope for a real glaucoma cure.
