Dear YMEC family,
We wanted to reach out to our patients during this period of isolation. Although we are not open for routine eye care, we are still here for the community. If you have an upcoming appointment, Evelyn will contact you to re-schedule.
If there are any questions or concerns that you may have, please feel free to contact us. We are here to help during this challenging time and will alert you when we reopen. In the meantime, we hope that you and your family stay healthy, safe and comfortable at home. Try to keep busy, both physically and mentally and don’t forget your sunglasses when you go for your walk or jog.
Urgent Eye Care
To help reduce the burden on our medical system at this time, we are accessible by email and telephone for any urgent eye care issues or advice. Should an in-office assessment be necessary, we will arrange accordingly. We do not want you to go to your pharmacy, family doctor, walk-in or ER at this time. Please call or email us so that we can evaluate and discuss your situation.
In cooperation with all of the contact lens suppliers, we are happy to provide direct delivery of contact lens orders to your home at no charge for shipping. Contact lenses are still safe to wear during these times if you practice proper lens care hygiene. Wash your hands with soap and hot water while singing Happy Birthday – my wife instilled that into our children, now young adults, at a very early age.
Eye Drops and Eye Supplements
We are happy to provide curbside pick ups for your eye drops, supplements and contact lens supplies. Please email firstname.lastname@example.org.
Emergency eyeglass orders, as well as breakages and warranty replacements, can be arranged. Curbside pickups are also available for those patients who ordered eyeglasses before the lockdown. Please email email@example.com.
Asparagus Risotto Recipe
While we are spending more time at home, now is a good time to try out new recipes. My contest-winning Asparagus Risotto recipe (microwave friendly) is available here. It is full of eye-healthy ingredients. You may also find it on YouTube (my first foray into producing and directing a video). It was published in Zoomer magazine and was heard on the New Classical FM 96.3 radio station.
